Mazda is the only car I have ever owned that just doesn't break down. My first one was a 626 purchased in 1986 and owned for 13 years and it broke down 1 time after 10 years, unlike most US manufactured cars at the time that broke down even before I would finish paying for it, but after warranty expired. I now own a 2007 Mazda 5 and it's now 2023 so it's nearly 16 years old and it's never broken down. Very reliable car and I love the room in it. Its the only car brand I haven't wanted to get rid of after a few years.

I purchased this car used with around 70k miles, and it was SUCH a joy to drive for nearly 100k miles! Very few times in the shop, decent gas mileage, and enough style to make people ask "what IS that"? Love the sliding passenger doors, but doesn't look quite as "soccer-mom" like as many mini vans. Sadly, they changed the body style a couple of years later, so I couldn't replace her with another Mazda5.

I installed a hitch that i bought on Amazon for $120 and can carry 3 bikes on the back and can haul a 10 ft kayak in the back with a hitch Tee bar extension I use. I also had a trailer light kit installed so can pull a kayak trailer too. I bought the 5 new in 2012 and have 115k miles. It is super reliable and I use it to haul the family, bikes, and kayaks.

I bought a used 2006 Mazda 5 Base Sport that was 3 years old from a dealership and while maintenance cost while making payments was low and fuel economy good, comfort however for a man who is 6 foot 200 lbs is non existent especially in the lumbar region. The car is peppy like the Mazda 3 that's hidden below the sport wagon facia the Mazda 3 small disk brake set up isn't good going down a steep mountain road as you eye the run away truck ramp standing on the brake pedal and smelling it heat up. And while driving up the same said steep mountain road the 4 cylinder engine will blow the oil cooler under the strain. As to the interior the plastic and latching components are inferior and prone to easy breakage as was the case of the lever to fold down the useless third row seating. Other than that it's nimble and will round and hold curves like a sports car and it's suspension is handles the bumps and ruts like a sports car not a luxury car with air ride suspension. If you are a small family of 4 wanting a peppy wagon the Mazda 5 fills the bill but need room for a larger family and cargo a larger minivan is is better suited.

It’s a good car. Just the dealership did me dirty by not replacing a bad tire that they promised in writing that they would. Now I have to pay for one. The front underneath must be extremely low because it drags when I pull in or out of a driveway curb.

The best car I've ever owned or driven (I've driven large variety of vehicles, including trucks, SUVS, compacts, vans and midsize.) Roomy first two rows, 3 row a bit tight for anyone tall (excellent for German shepherds, or kids.) I've got the Grand Touring edition so it's got quite a few fancies. That's makes it better (sun roof, leather, seat warmers). It has the little outside extras too (spoiler, fog lights, and such.) It has over 100k and runs like a dream. No major issues, only routine maintenance needed. Has a nice kick when you hit the gas (typical Mazda zoom zoom). I drive a ton (can vary from 40 miles/day to 100+/day) for work and it's great on gas. I can fit the whole family inside (2 kids, 100lb shep, husband.) It's a 6 seater. Second and third row seats drop. I hauled wood, everything from Costco, and even a couch. The one down side is when I hauled lots of adults (full grown) the car weighed down so the kick was gone and was much slower to build speed. You could feel the difference. I LOVE this car.

I owned this car for over 15 years with almost no problems whatsoever! I have driven it all over the world with family and friends and received nothing but compliments! As a family man there was plenty of room for child seats plus additional seating for parents for group outings to theme parks, dinners, etc... Very comfortable and smooth ride and great for long distance drives up the coast! Most of all, all the back seats fold down creating a HUGE amount of space in the back to lug things around. I helped countless friends and family members move a lot of boxes, furniture, etc... Extremely practical in most situations.

This was the perfect car for my family, countless Scout trips, road trips, long drives, and running errands in town. The 3rd row folds flat for tons of cargo space, but can also hold up to 6 people if necessary.

I used to own a full minivan that I didn't really want to give up until I tried and purchased this Mazda 5. It is very comfortable for up to 6 people although I've been driving it mostly alone the past four years. It is much larger inside than we think, it can carry large/long items (e.g. 6 ft ladder, road bike, table with chairs), yet it maneuvers and parks like a car. It has completely met my needs and had no technical issues.

AFTER TRYING THE NISSAN AND THE DODGE MINIVAN I GUESS MAZDA IS THE WINNER BECAUSE THE UNIQUE STYLE MAKES THE MAZDA 5 DESIRABLE AND BUDGET FRIENDLY FAMILY is the Low Gas, not expensive and very comfortable.

I replaced my 2009 Mazda 5 with a 2016 model. There was some cost cutting to maintain the price point but it is a very practical vehicle with great value and economy. I like the loaded GT package with leather interior, sunroof and the 6-speed manual transmission.

I called in the morning and requested to see a vehicle, they were very detailed on what car etc, to check to make sure they had the model, exterior color and interior color available. They did, so I scheduled to view the car that same day. I got there, the sales associate named Val was there to greet me holding a spot for the vehicle I arrived in. I was warmly greeted by him. I had my 17month old son with me and he gave him a balloon and offered if there was anything he could get to make us feel more comfortable. He had the car ready to test drive, during the test drive he was very thorough about the car, and showed me absolutely everything. I expressed I would like to trade in my old car and it was not a problem. We scheduled a time where he would come and pick up the vehicle from my house so I did not have to worry about dropping it off. After the paperwork was done he walked me around the building and introduced me to the service desk employees and showed me everything that I would need to go regarding getting car washes or just coming for a fix. When picking up my trade in vehicle it was super fast and easy. 10/10, Val and the team made the process very smooth, stress free, informative and positive. Honestly, its not the fastest, coolest or biggest car out there, but its easy and cheap to fix, and very reliable. I got mine at 70k, and am currently up to 145k. Ive replaced: Tires, Brakes, Front suspension components, rear shocks, TCM, and transmission fluid. That pretty awesome if you ask me!
