Volkswagen is a global automotive juggernaut headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany, that sells brands like Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche and Lamborghini in addition to its namesake brand. Volkswagen took a hit in the U.S. in 2015 due to an emissions scandal related to its diesel engines, and the automaker is now heavily investing in electric vehicles like the ID.4 compact SUV.

Other SUV models include the compact Tiguan, three-row Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport, which is a two-row version of the Atlas with a sleeker roofline. Sedan offerings include the compact Jetta and mid-size Passat. The Golf hatchback is available in regular and performance-oriented GTI form, and the premium Arteon hatchback has the look of a sedan.
