I purchased my 1999 Celica GT with 95,000 miles a few

I purchased my 1999 Celica GT with 95,000 miles a few years ago. For a 99 this car is amazingly reliable. I do have a parisidic battery drain that kills the battery if it sets longer than 2 weeks but I'm also sure it's an easy fix if I stopped being lazy. I had to have the AC recharged and the valve cover gaskets replaced due to leaking oil. I think it comes with an old car. Other than this I don't think I had a more reliable car from starting driving until now in my 40s. I wish there were more aftermarket parts but you can still always find what you need if something small needs replaced. With the manual transmission I love driving the car even if it's not fast it's still fun to drive. On top of all that they are not a desirable car so you can get one for cheap and it's very easy to work on. I would definitely recommend this car.

Well built

pretty good car, simple, but still convenient and reliable and if you modify it enough, you might turn some heads. It reminds me of the supra and the miata combined. It shares similar parts with the supra and people tend to modify some celiacs to make them look somewhat like a supra, but then again it's just a celica. Like the miata, it's not a muscle car or anything, just a fun reliable, modifiable car.

Very reliable car.

The car is super reliable. I changed from manual gear to automatic gear 5 speed and the performance remains excellent. Unless you are told, you would not know. Increased the shocks to fit in size 17 tyres and with higher ground clearance. Still performs excellent.

I miss this car

I bought one in 2002 and loved it for all off 3 weeks before my gf made me trade it in because we had a baby. I just was thinking about it and decided to read some reviews to see what other people had to say about it. I'm not big on extreme stereo systems but we had 2 10s in the back and I loved driving at night listening to Deftones and making drug runs. Ah the good ol days. I'll get another one some day just for the nostalgia. Love is love people cheers!

Low Maintenance, Cheap, Sporty

The 99 Celica was purchased 03/2017 w/ 170k. It now has 208k 09/201. I have only put a set of tires on it and changed the oil. It has made at least a dozen+ trips to DC, MD, VB , NC and also a trip to ATL. IT was one owner prior to me. No complaints

Great fun car

I bought my car used from a friend in 2011. I have had very few problems with it and it runs well still. It is pretty spacious for a 2 door convertible. Nice trunk size too. Good gas mileage. Drives well and smoothly. Decent ride. I'd buy another one any day.

99 celica GT convertable

Sweet little car and hard to find a nice one this year in automatic.. Drove from ATL to Savannah GA to pick this you up.. I am always impressed with Toyota's quality and dependability, and this car is no exception.. The wife loves it, I don't think the top has been up in the time we have owned..lol

great car!

this car is easy to handle, great on gas and fun to drive. i purchased my '99 celica gt convertible in '06 and i love it. i store it during the winter and look forward to putting it on the road every spring. maintenance costs have been minimal and all power features function well. the cup holders are a little awkward and the black leather interior can get a bit warm on super hot days. (i once owned an '86 celica gt that i drove for 10 years; sold it when i got married and had children.)

Best Little Car I 've Owned

I just love this little car! It is fun to drive the bucket seats are very comfortable with good sport suspension. The moonroof and the leather and the exterior design of this car makes it looks very classy compared to the newer 2000-2005 celicas. The only thing I didn't like is the location of the cup holders. If you drive this car you will like it too! I t handles the hills in San Francisco fine.

I love this car, it is one- of a kind

Ive owned 4 Celica convertibles or hard-tops and this is the best, Ive never had a reason to sell it. No problems as long as you put some time and not very much $$ to keep it running great!
