Fun Car Subaru Problems

This was such a fun car to drive. But the huge problemsI had made me sell it. The vehicle needed a head gasket replacement at only 110,000 miles and the rear wheel arches had huge rust holes. You can tell both of these are engineering issues via Subaru. I wanted to keep it longer but couldn't fathom spending $2,000 on it for something else to go wrong.

Non-turbo hood hard to find

Update on my review from November. A truck backed into the car at a toll booth. Damage was front bumper, two headlights, and hood needed replacing. The estimate from the bodyshop was more than the value of the car because they could not find a non-turbo hood in green. So the car has been declared a total write off at 88k miles. Mechanically this was a reliable car the 20k miles we had it.

Reliable wagon

Drive a 2000 wagon, auto transmission. Bought used at 67k, 6 months on 74k. Reliable so far. Engine powerful, auto shifts smoothly. Great all round visibility out, especially out the large rear windows in the wagon. Pull out cup holder in front of air-con vent helps keep metal canteen cool. Back seat base lifts up and seat back folds down for wagon utility. Brakes work fine, although no ABS and front disc brakes only. Missing drivers seat height adjustment, too large steering wheel, and missing cruise control. Looking forward to testing the 4WD in winter. I'm getting 21mpg with the Auto.

Most Reliable Car I've Owned

I've been driving this car for 5 years and it's been the best, most dependable car I've owned. It gets good gas mileage and is a great car to zip around in. It has great acceleration. The front seats are very comfortable. Not only has good road clearance, but also is sure and steady on the road.

Most fun car I have ever owned

The best fun is driving around and having people look at you. This is such a safe car and handles so well because of the all wheel drive.
