2015 Scion FR-S review: Our expert's take

Vehicle Overview

The FR-S is the sportiest vehicle in the Scion lineup. It’s a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive coupe built with balance and maneuverability in mind. The four-cylinder sports coupe is a spiritual successor to small performance cars offered by Toyota, Scion’s parent company, in the 1980s. The FR-S competes in the same space as the Hyundai Genesis coupe, Mazda MX-5 Miata and the FR-S’ nearly identical twin, the Subaru BRZ.

New for 2015

Scion has made the front suspension more rigid and retuned the rear shocks in an effort to reduce body roll. The pole antenna has been replaced by a “shark fin” antenna, and larger exhaust tips are flusher with the bumper.

Great Car

This car met my Expectations , nice sporting clean car.The FRS is a sporting fun car and recommend highly if you enjoy driving! I suggest a six speed manual model you’ll love it!!!


This is a fantastic sports car

This car does not need more power. It just needs passionate drivers who know how to drive at a higher level of expertise. It's also a good bet for a less experienced river as well. Most road speeds are hideously at 30 MPH or less. This care excels on a freeway but especially on windy and twisty roads. This is a sports car by its looks and handling.


My go kart

This is the most fun I have driven and owned. I'm good at getting practical cars and this car is kind of sneaky. It masquerades as completely impractical but actually gets pretty good gas mileage and is fun to drive the kids around in though getting car seats in and out is a definite downer. It's soooo responsive. I love driving, and feeling every nuance of the experience is so good. AND it's so reasonably priced.,
