The Dodge Ram pickup truck got its own brand starting with the 2012 model year; the Ram 1500 replaced the Dodge Ram 1500, the Ram 2500 replaced the Dodge Ram 2500 and so on. Although the models were largely carryovers of Dodge predecessors, Ram eventually got other models to call its own. The ProMaster and smaller ProMaster City vans gave Ram a bigger presence in the commercial market, and its full-size pickups were redesigned for 2019.

Ties to Dodge remain clear; Ram’s badge — a protruding ram’s head — was what Dodge once used, and since most Stellantis brands are sold in common facilities, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see models from both brands on the same lot.
