Polestar

Polestar was originally a series of sporty performance-tuned models based on Volvo sedans and SUVs. In 2017, Volvo, which is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, spun Polestar off as a separate brand focused entirely on hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
Introduced as a 2020 model and lasting only two model years in the U.S., the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe was the brand’s first stand-alone vehicle. However, its steep price and limited run of 1,500 examples made it an extremely rare halo vehicle.
The Polestar 2, an all-electric, compact four-door hatchback sedan that debuted for 2021, was more focused on mainstream buyers in terms of both price and functionality. Following for 2024 is the Polestar 3, a sleek five-seat SUV that expands upon the 2’s styling cues. More numerically named Polestar models are expected to debut in the near future.
