Excellent little car for around town

the perfect car for commuting if you don't have to drive long distances. Smooth ride, comfortable seats, has a lot of zip, lots of interior space for a small car. Very economical: electricity is less expensive per mile than gasoline, never needs an oil change or tune up because it has no engine, never needs an emmissions test because it has no emmisions.

Extremely reliable, quiet, and economical

2014 has a range of 80 miles and charges overnight on a 110 volt circuit. Most quiet car I have ever driven. Nissan lined the entire bottom of the car to reduce road noise. The Nissan Leaf, since it's inception, has developed a reputation for longevity and being very dependable. If you like quickness, this car is very fast.

This is my dream car!

The Leaf SL is Nissan's top-of-the line Leaf, with many nice features that distinguish it from other trim levels: Bose audio system, leather seating, front-and-back seat heaters, heated leather steering wheel, AroundView Monitor (four-direction “backup” cameras great for close parking situations), 440v Quick Charger port, premium wheels, etc. This is a gem with 11-bars and lots of life left in the battery. Perfect commuter car. Charges to full 80+ miles overnight using a regular 120v outlet and the included charger. Acceleration is phenomenal (quiet and fast).

Made the switch to an EV!

Love driving this car! And never having to stop at the gas station again! Very responsive and I can plug it into a regular outlet to charge. Easy commuter/ around town car. Comfortable interior with thoughtful design details.

Fun to drive, no more gas stations!

It's fun to drive and very sporty when it's not in Eco. Eco is great for traffic and hilly areas since there's less braking needed. Never having to go to a gas station is great. Just plug it in at night and I'm ready to go the next morning. It's great for around town, but with only 80 miles of range I wouldn't have this as my primary car. Great for a two car household.

Very nice commute car

Great car, super cost effective. Still a great range and battery life. More range is always nice but with all the free places to charge I get by fine. I like the car enough to consider a battery swap when the range gets low enough to cause concern.

No More Gas Lines

My favorite car ever. My Leaf is the SL trim with the premium package, so it is a top-of-the-line Leaf for my 2014 model year and includes all the cool tech features of that year like the four exteriors cameras, Bose sound, etc. I really enjoy all the thoughtful features. Every 20-mile drive I make reminds me that I just saved about $3 and some of my precious time wasted in lines at stinky gas pumps. Charging at night at home is painless. The 90-mile range per charge is plenty for 90% of my Bay Area driving. Still keep a gas-fueled vehicle for our longer trips, but thinking I could just rent a gas car for such trips. Really love the way the Leaf handles and accelerates when you need it to perform in the city or highway. Just pop it out of Eco mode and put the pedal to the medal!

0 Maintenance, but low to no resale

I own the SV model (considered their luxury model with leather seats, Quick Charge, and 'Around View' cameras.) and I love it. The fact that everyone is obsessed with the range, it's eventual degradation, and the shelf life of the batteries themselves, as well as the promise of far better future tech, creates a perfect storm in that it has just about the highest depreciation out there. Otherwise, there is just no EV comparison for the price (if you want ANY space in the vehicle to carry kids).

EV Future is now!

We still love our premium Leaf SL. Why? 1. Heated leather seats that deliver you to work toasty and warm. 2. White HOV sticker allows a single driver to bypass the gridlock on the 101. 3. Virtually no maintenance costs. No oil changes, fluid top offs, tuneups, belt changes, etc. 4. With solar power on EV rate, we pay about 1 penny/mile to operate. 5. After we got our Leaf and EV rates, our electrical bill dropped by $130/month while increasing usage. 6. Zippy, can pull across a busy intersection lightening quick. 7. Outstanding Bose sound system with 6 speakers. 8. Spacious in front and back. 9. Premier navigation and 360 degree backup camera. 10 Drives like butter. The smoothest ride ever. Makes you resent all the years you've spent in an ICE vehicle. 11. Your house becomes your fuel station. We rarely rely on the public charging infrastructure. Outstanding car for town and mid-range driving. 12. When our daughter borrowed the car, she didn't need to worry about buying gas!
