Land Rover is a British brand that makes off-road-capable SUVs sold as luxury vehicles in the U.S. A 4x4 pioneer in many ways, Land Rover was the first to simplify adapting an SUV for various conditions with the Terrain Response system, which has since been copied by competitors. Land Rover's car complement is Jaguar, and both brands are owned by India's Tata Motors.

Creating confusion since 1970, Land Rover's flagship SUV is named Range Rover, making it the Land Rover Range Rover; it's offered in regular- and long-wheelbase form. The Range Rover name also graces the compact Range Rover Evoque and mid-size Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar SUVs. The brand’s Discovery range includes the compact Discovery Sport and mid-size Discovery. And Land Rover made big news with the relaunch of its Defender nameplate for 2020 as a modern but rugged-looking SUV.
