Ford Focus

After 11 years the Focus finally received a complete redesign for 2012. The new Focus brought sleek new looks and the return of the hatchback body style. New technology options, like a self-parking system, Sync connectivity and the MyFord Touch multimedia system, were also offered. A sporty Focus ST hatchback joined the family in 2013, bringing more aggressive styling, Recaro-brand seats, a six-speed manual and 252 horsepower from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In 2015, the Focus received a light styling refresh and a newly available turbocharged three-cylinder engine. A high-performance Focus RS debuted in 2016 making 350 hp with its 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder.

Designed by Ford’s European division, the Focus bowed in the U.S. at the turn of the millennium. Initially offered in sedan, hatchback and wagon body styles, the Focus was a small, affordable, practical and spacious car. Base Focus models were pretty Spartan, but higher trim levels brought upgraded features like power windows and locks, air conditioning, alloy wheels, keyless entry and better sound systems. In 2002, the high-performance Focus SVT debuted with 170 hp, a six-speed manual, an upgraded suspension and unique styling cues. A mid-cycle refresh came in 2005, bringing updates to the interior and exterior, plus a sporty new ZX4 ST sedan to replace the SVT model. Another refresh came in 2008, along with the debut of a coupe body style and the dropping of the hatchback and wagon. Stability control and antilock brakes became standard on all versions in 2010.
