2021 Ford Expedition review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2021 Ford Expedition?

Offered in regular- and extended-length Max form, the Ford Expedition full-size SUV seats five people in two rows or up to eight people in three rows. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 375 or 400 horsepower depending on the trim level. The V-6 teams with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and rear- and four-wheel-drive models are offered. Competitors include the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada

Should I Buy the 2021 Ford Expedition?

The Expedition has plenty of capability — it’ll tow up to 9,300 pounds when properly equipped — and it offers lots of tech features. It’s roomy, rides well and has a powerful drivetrain, too. It can get pricey and towing disproportionately drags down fuel economy, but the Expedition is an impressive full-size SUV overall.

Absolute xxx

1 1/2 years old and less than 11,000 miles. 2 recalls. Bad battery after 1 year. Check engine light on due to PCM. Gasket falling off on driver side door handle. Corrosion on my intake manifold. Windshield wiper fluid constantly and consistently empties after a few months (leak???). Paint bubbling and peeling on my rooftop. Need I say more?! Absolute xxx... I live in Las Vegas. It's always parked in a garage. 2021 XLT model.
