It did a flip onto it back like turtle, died.
It finally is done at about 300-km BC highways are not graveled much anymore even when a sheet of ice. The fish-tailing took it slowly into the ditch and roled onto its back... still running I turned the ignition off, opened the drivers window and took pictures. Bought it with a blown rod so replaced the engine with a junker in a farm-yard... pretty easy to change engine. Even swung the A/C rad to the side without loosing Freon. Leaking rear axle seals were easy to replace but had to change the diff fluid too. King and pinion gears were nice. Cult played a trick and over-tightened my front bearings in Calgary on night. I noticed the noise and repacked the grease put thousands of miles on those trashed front bearing just to see how they held-up with a spare set in the glove-box... they never failed, but the noise was anoying so I replaced them for the silence. You cannot do this with McPherson strut vehicles so easily. The design of the Aerostar is for serviceablity except for the spark plugs and top end. I melted a front tranny seal doing a brake-torque test... got to hot... silly, yep! I bought a seal for 5 bucks jacked up the van dropped the tranny, replaced the seal while it sat under the van, popped the tranny back in and never another drip... and never another brake-torque test. I would buy another if the rust wasn't horrible.

I got it in 1995 and still have it running! It hasn't had barely any problems and now has 261 thousand miles on it! It is still going strong. I absolutely love it.
