What it is: With four doors and seating for five, the 500L is a significantly larger vehicle than the two-door Fiat 500 and is comparable to the Mini Countryman; it also competes with Mitsubishi's Outlander Sport and compact hatchbacks like the Ford Focus. The 500L comes with front-wheel drive, but its platform is the basis for the Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade subcompact SUVs, which are available with all-wheel drive.
The 500L's front and rear styling has been revised, and the side moldings, wheels and daytime running lights have a new look. A backup camera is now standard.
Changes to the cabin include a new center console with repositioned cupholders as well as a new gear selector, parking brake handle and steering wheel. There's also an additional USB port, and LED ambient lighting is available.
Chrysler's Uconnect 4 multimedia system is now standard. The system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, and it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.
