This is more of an initial review.

This is more of an initial review. To preface, our other car is a Polestar 2 and we really have enjoyed it for what it is. Though we've only owned our Blazer for about a week, we are certain about some differences. This car was $4,100 cheaper on the price tag for identical trim level. It looks far nicer and more expensive inside, there is a little more tech and it's easier to use. Both app AND the key will perform remote start. It is NOT a clone of a gas twin. The front doors are large so my partner, who is 6'3 and 270 doesn't hit the b-pillar or hit his head on the car getting in and out. He can sit behind himself in the backseat. Clearly there are two different characters in these cars. The Polestar is sporty and the ride feels like it. Rather harsh, feel every singe bump, but DIVINE on back roads. The suspension needs tuning for better compromise and isolation. Bumps are loud and disturbing and resonate through the body as if there are no bushings at all. This Blazer feels like a luxury car. It's not sporty, but it's composed. It soaks up bumps. There is zero resonance through the body. It has active noise cancellation inside the car to make it even quieter and it is extremely quiet inside. The Polestar launches off the line from a stop light with alacrity, while the Blazer is a lot less aggressive, yet they have the same 0-60 time. The way the cars are set up in programming is so different (and they really aren't competitors), but it also shows that Chevy has been around a LOT longer and has been working on their HEV/BEV game longer. The delivery and feel of the product as a whole is WAY different. GM has been doing their homework and knows their market. This is my first GM product and it's really, REALLY good. The radio has been acting a little weird, turning off on it's own, and the day after we brought it home, there was a rattle in the dash which has since gone away on it's own. Both little concerns, easily corrected. Despite that, when the Polestar lease is up, guess what my first stop will be.

I am loving my new Blazer EV.

I am loving my new Blazer EV. My only complaint would be the radio/speaker system could be better but overall it’s a great vehicle. A good first choice for a EV

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV review: Our expert's take

By Aaron Bragman

Chevrolet has been selling electrified vehicles for many years now, but one of the brand’s newest models, the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, is something a little different. Using GM’s Ultium battery technology, it’s a model that the brand hopes will start to drive Americans into seeing mass-market EVs as a reasonable alternative to gas-powered models. And while we wanted to drive it a while ago when it first came out, a slowed introduction and roll out due to software and manufacturing issues meant there weren’t many on the road until now — and the ones that were on the road generally had issues.

No longer, however. Chevrolet seems to have ironed out any software bugs and assembly glitches, and now the Blazer EV is flowing out of the manufacturing plant and onto dealer lots in volume — and we finally got to spend a week behind the wheel of a sporty RS model. Cars.com Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman drove it all over southeast Michigan and came away with some definite thoughts on how Chevy’s first competitor in the mid-size electric SUV class performs, including one aspect of the new Blazer EV that might be a deal killer for a lot of prospective customers.
