One of GM’s four U.S. brands (the others being Buick, Chevrolet and GMC), Cadillac competes with European and Asian luxury brands as well as Ford's luxury brand Lincoln. It has a reputation for advanced technology and driving performance, though some of its models have fallen short of true luxury pampering.
As the market shifts to SUVs, so has Cadillac's lineup; it now includes the entry-level XT4, compact XT5 and three-row XT6. The brand's flagship SUV is the full-size, truck-based Escalade (regular) and Escalade ESV (extended), a relative of the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL. Cadillac's car lineup has been pared down in recent years but still includes the CT4 and CT5 sports sedans, both of which offer high-performance Blackwing variants. Cadillac is also at the forefront of GM’s shift to electric vehicles: The brand’s first all-electric vehicle, the Lyriq mid-size SUV, debuted for 2023.
