This SUV rocks!

Amazing handling for an SUV, and talk about torque! Once you hear that growl when the engine starts you get goosebumps. I can pretty much beat anyone off the line. She hugs the rode so sweet, and you can feel her hugging the road as you go faster. Yummy GRRRR

Great performance!

1 of the best cars that I have owned in life . I have purchased 7 BMW, 2-X5, 1-X6, & 4- 7 series . I have Only problems with the 1st. X5 in 2002. I purchased another 1 in 2003, I didn’t have any future problems.

I enjoy owning the BMW! Great ride, curves, she handles well, like an extension of myself. I love being a part of the BMW Family! The best customer service and VIP treatment at BMW of Fairfax. It’s been a joy!

After 20 years of owning BMW's, I'm done with them

I'm not a newbie or short term BMW owner. I have owned a BMW in one form or another from 2000 to 2019. The models I've owned include Z3, Z4, 535, X5, X5d, X6 M performance. I owned the X6 M performance most recently - just traded it in last week for a Mazda CX-9. The reasons I traded in my X6 was simple - it spent more time at the BMW dealer than in my garage and the dealer sales manager tried to throw me a low ball trade in value. In the 2 years I owned the X6 CPO (certified pre-owned) that had 25,000 miles in it when I bought it, it had been in the shop 10 times for oil consumption issues, battery problems, a defective intelligent battery sensor, various idiot lights for issues with the electronic shifter - what a STUPID idea that feature is and I have NO idea why BMW sticks with that counterintuitive xxx. I had to keep the X6 on a battery tender because the car draws so much power for everything and the charging system was designed by Teutonic engineering idiots. If you don't keep the X6 on a battery tender you can count on a new $600 battery every 12-18 months. The X6 M Performance chews up the Bridgestone Dueler run flat tires about every 12,000 miles - if you're gentle. Those tires are $1800 for a set of 4 (275 front and 315 rear). The guy who owned the car before me was a physician and he was putting new Bridgestone tires on every 6,000 miles according to CarFax! I knew every BMW service writer on a first name basis. BMW's are lousy at holding value and you can count on the yearly depreciation being equal to the cost of a yearly lease, Hint - never buy these cars, lease them for no more that 3 years because BMW gutted the maintenance plan from 4 years including brakes to 3 years NOT including brakes. The final straw for me was when the BMW sales manager tried to lowball my X6 trade in value by $2500 compared to the Mazda dealer. There HAS to be more room in a $75,000 BMW than in a $45,000 Mazda but not at my former BMW dealer (emphasis on "former"). If you insist on owning a BMW, you've been warned. The cars are maintenance and reliability nightmares, the cost of consumables is absurd and you should NEVER own one without a warranty. The Mazda CX-9 has proven to be a better vehicle for me in terms of technology, reliability and cost of consumables and it has equivalent IIHS crash ratings compared to the the X6 and the X5. Good luck!

Flawed yet Fantastic

The interior of this car is top notch. The design is very good, the materials high quality, it's got all the tech you need, and everything is well laid out. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because of smaller than usual headroom in the back seats due to the slope of the roof line. Make sure you sit in the back seats to make sure they are something you can live with. I decided I easily could :) Also, this a sporty SUV. If maximum hauling space is what you are looking for look, look elsewhere. The exterior of this car is, in my opinion, amazing. It's a modern looking hatchback, well balanced, great handling... truly a dream car. Like a BMW, you feel very connect to the road the driving. The engine is great in the highway and good in stop and go traffic. However, due to the vehicle's weight, it will not start from a complete stop as fast as some would like unless you use the paddles to shift manually. Still, just remember, this vehicle is more akin to an SUV than a sedan. Braking is responsive and excellent overall. Fuel consumption is average. It's roof line is perhaps both the X6's greatest strength and it's greatest weakness. I, for one, love it!

The smooth drive is excellent!

Originally i thought the vehicle was too big, so I rest drove the X4. The X4 was very similar to setting in a car. The X6 ended up being exactly what I was looking for.
