The ultimate sports coupe

I traded in a 2020 bmw m2 competition for a 2020 bmw CS. Both were bought new. The M2 Competition was an amazing little car but the CS takes it to another level. The adaptive suspension gives it a more compliant ride than the Competition. The acceleration is ferocious ( 0-60 in 3.8 seconds) and the handling is intuitive and precise but predictable. The seats are extremely comfortable even for a large guy like me ( 6’4” and 225 pounds). The stereo is cranking and the heated seats are just perfect. Very little in the way of other toys. No sunroof or electronic gimmicks to distract from the driving experience. Evo gave it car of the year in 2020 beating out Ferraris Lamborghinis Porsches Mclarens and rightly so. Resale value keeps climbing:)

Awesome car-huge fun...and surprisingly practical!

I've owned a 2020 M2 Competition manual in Long Beach Blue for 2 years now and I've put approximately 19K miles on this car, including use as a daily driver, use for fun drives on nearby country roads, and use on the track (VIR). This is a fantastic car, with great power, exceptional handling and braking, and it is suprisingly practical with great back seat roominess (when compared to other 2-door sports cars that have this), and a good-sized trunk. I've had one minor repair made under warranty to replace the crank shaft sensor, and I've replaced the tires (with the OEM Michelin Pilot Super Sport). My only ding is that on longer drives the car is less comfortable but this is a minor criticism in light of how I did not purchase the car for this reason. Overall an incredible car that is huge fun and a great value to boot!

2020 BMW M2 review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2020 BMW M2?

The BMW M2 is a rear-wheel-drive, performance-oriented coupe that seats four. It runs on a 405-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that works with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Competitors include the Porsche 718 Cayman, Audi RS 3 and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45.

What’s New on the 2020 BMW M2?

There are no changes this year.

What Features in the 2020 BMW M2 Are Most Important?

The M2 is the most performance-oriented version of the 2 Series, and we like that BMW still offers a manual transmission for shoppers who want one. Available wireless phone charging and Wi-Fi can help you stay connected on the go. Forward collision warning with low-speed automatic braking and lane departure warning are standard. Adding the M Driver’s Package increases the M2’s top speed to 174 mph and includes a session of on-track driving from BMW.

Should I Buy the 2020 BMW M2?

In an era where performance BMWs have become increasingly bigger, the M2’s small size recalls earlier M cars. Even though the focus is squarely on performance, the M2 comes with expected luxury and technology features. If the price doesn’t scare you away, and you’re a fan of compact performance cars, the M2 is worth a test drive.
