The iX is not worth the money, service lacking
The iX is not a terrible EV by far, but none of the competition is really that strong either. It definitely is not worth $100k! Here are some of my chief problems: My car has an issue with the audio that causes extreme distortion when listening at 50% or higher. If you like to really jam out to music, this Harmon Kardon system is terrible for it to be an upgrade. The car does have tons of bass, but the good stops there. BMW will not fix this! You can’t set efficient as the default driving mode. You can’t default to brake mode without double clicking the shifter into drive The kidney grille is ugly AF - I thought it would grow on me The seat bottoms are NOT comfortable at all The feature on the steering wheel to launch automated driving is easily touched in maneuvering into parking and has launched the car forward now twice almost causing accidents. It should require a long press. Rear trunk space hieght is limited. Can’t fit a normal dog crate. The cup holders suck and don’t allow for tall mugs. Storage space in general is really lacking. Glove box is tiny. There’s no place for sunglasses The digital key doesn’t work often requiring the physical key Lots of other software issues This will be my last BMW due to my poor experience with this car and the experience with BMW service and corporate on the audio issue. They do not listen to customers and aren’t will to solve documented issues.

This car is amazing! Love that it's full electric
I love this car, it has all the bells and whistles of a luxury car and a 300 mile range, full electric. I had the level 2 charger hooked up at my house and haven't been to the gas station since! This car does things I didn't even know it does--it can parallel park itself, pull out of a parking position by itself by using your phone (if you are parked too close to other vehicles to open door or if the car is in a muddy spot). After driving up to my gate callbox a few times (the clicker doesn't work so I have to enter the code) the car noticed I rolled the window down at that location, and asked if I'd like to have it automatically lower when we approach (which I do)! I love being able to put my foot under the hatchback if my hands are full and the trunk opening automatically. I was worried about running out of a charge, and granted, I haven't gone on any long trips yet, but charging overnight at home works perfectly fine for day to day usage. It is an expensive car, but I got a great deal leasing it and I think it's worth it. Slightly less trunk space than the x5 which I had before this, but as my kids have grown and moved out, I don't really need it as much. Surprising amount of torque--my husband was impressed.
