NEVER BUY ANY CAR FROM OURISMAN VOLKSWAGEN OF BETHESDA.

NEVER BUY ANY CAR FROM OURISMAN VOLKSWAGEN OF BETHESDA. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Ourisman VW Bethesda after purchasing a brand-new VW Taos S. I expected a reliable and safe vehicle but have encountered numerous issues right from the start. From the moment I received the car, I faced significant problems. I had to contact the dealership multiple times to report these issues. While the employees were initially helpful, the underlying problems remained unresolved. Major Issues Encountered: Engine Control Malfunction: Shortly after receiving the car, the Engine Control Malfunction icon turned on, indicating potential engine problems that could lead to sudden breakdowns. Additionally, the car remained excessively hot for hours after being parked, causing significant inconvenience and safety concerns. Braking System Issues: During the test drive, I noticed a friction or scraping noise when braking, which I was told was normal for a new car. However, the noise persisted every time I braked, raising serious safety concerns about potential defects in the braking system. Acceleration Problems: From the very first drive, I experienced shuttering during acceleration. The throttle response was irregular, causing the car to lurch forward unexpectedly. Despite following advice to deactivate the Auto Start-Stop system, the issue persisted, making the car difficult to control, especially in heavy traffic. Locking Issues: The car locked its engine twice and became completely unresponsive, leaving me stranded and unable to start the car for several minutes. Even an experienced driver with me couldn't figure out the issue. Interaction with Ourisman VW Bethesda: I contacted the Ourisman team to discuss these issues. They suggested sending the car to their service department for repairs. However, I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested to return the car for a full refund, given that I had only driven it for a short period and encountered multiple problems. Danet Marino, VW Manager, responded in an unprofessional and dismissive manner, rudely stating that they could not accept the car's return because "it is not a pair of shoes" and threatened that if I didn't send the car to their service department, I would be stuck with it at my house. Such behavior is unacceptable, especially from a dealership of this supposed caliber. Given that the car is brand new, there shouldn't be any issues requiring immediate repair. This experience has been nerve-wracking and has completely undermined my confidence in the vehicle's quality and the dealership's integrity. Conclusion: I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before purchasing a vehicle from Ourisman VW Bethesda. My experience has been fraught with issues and unprofessionalism.

What a horrible car buying experience.

What a horrible car buying experience. I traded in an old car and purchased a new one. Here I am 6 weeks later, and they have made 3, THREE, MISTAKES in the trade. Im not sure anyone there has had any training, or knows how to actually trade in a vehicle. They overcharged my tax (and have now mailed me a refund), they didn't get the correct car registration so now I AM having to redo it, and they somehow ,messed up the trade in vehicles car title, and are now asking for me to purchase a duplicate. Instead of taking ownership of their mistakes. Please save yourself the headache, and buy a car elsewhere. It has been 6 weeks of a headache dealing with them.

I have been trying to contact someone at Ourisman for

I have been trying to contact someone at Ourisman for weeks to cancel a warranty on a car a recently sold. I have called multiple times and left multiple messages. When I finally spoke to someone earlier this week they stated they would email me the paperwork; it never came. I’ve tried to follow up, to no avail. Today I called, asked to speak to the general manager and was transferred to a sales person. This is not how to do business.

These people are charlatans.

These people are charlatans. They try to collect twice for the same labor and held my car hostage so I couldn't take it to another dealership for the recall repair. My car was taken to this dealership by Cars to Go in Rockville a valet service center. As they are in Rockville I asked how my car ended up in Bethesda for work on the traction sensor rather than at DAR CARS VOLVO which was only a couple miles away, and my dealer of chose, that is when I found out that Car Care To Go is owned by Ourisman. RED flag number 1,Red flag number 2, I told the service department not to do the work, I would take my car to DAR, they said couldn't let my car go, because it is a safety violation. Red Flag number 3 I acquiesced but found they wanted to charge twice for the airbag recall labor, and again for the labor to replace the clock spring, the cause of the traction control light coming on. This part is just next to the airbag which was being replaced. I called 2 other dealerships service departments as was told that the spring would be replaced when air bag done with no additional labor, only part. I also requested cost for part from 2 other Volvo dealerships in the area, and both were in the $350 range imagine my surprise when Walt Clements in service told me my bill was in excess of $600 dollars, the price quoted by other dealerships for parts and 2 hours of labor. This is the height of thievery. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GROUP. THEY ARE THEIFS AND LIARS. If you have or want a Volvo or Volkswagen go elsewhere. That also applies to any other vehicle sold or serviced by OURISMAN. Finally DON'T fall for the platitudes offered by their review bot, it means nothing.

My review is overdue, but I wanted to say I visited

My review is overdue, but I wanted to say I visited Ourisman Volkswagen Volvo of Bethesda this summer and had a wonderful experience. My sales associate, Luis Rivero, could not have been more patient, taking my calls and answering all my questions before, during and after the sale. His calm manner and attentiveness were exactly what I needed to complete what, for me, is usually a nerve-wracking transaction. Happy!

I cannot believe why these folks have such a low rating.

I cannot believe why these folks have such a low rating. I can't say anything about the others, but my experience with Ourisman Volvo team was just stellar. This is the second time I made a purchase from Ourisman group and both the times, my experiences were amazing. My first Ourisman purchase was from their Lexus dealership in Rockville back in 2016, and the sales team I dealt with there was as good as the sales team here at Ourisman Volvo. I was looking to lease an EV (2023 Volvo C40) for the first time. Not only this was my first time with EV, this was my first time with leasing as well. All of my previous vehicle transactions were for purchase, so I had no clue what the leasing process could be. I was initially talking to Ourisman's competitor in Rockville, and after having less than pleasing experience with them, I reached out to Ourisman. I did see Ourisman's ratings here on Yelp, so I was a bit skeptical, but their GM Eddie Bethancourt was hands down one of the most helpful and customer focused person. He did no waste any time responding to my questions, and typically responded to my emails within an hour. Major plus point in my books. After we agreed upon the numbers, I told him that I can come by the dealership to make the lease final, but I told him that I might not be able to make it till later in the afternoon, because I needed my brother to drop me off at the dealership. Eddie offered to send me a courtesy pickup. Now, I dont live like a block or two from Bethesda, I live in Germantown, about 15 miles from the dealership, may be a little more. So I was surprised that Eddie was willing to send someone over to pick me up. Another plus point. When I got at the dealership, Eddie assigned a Sales person, Cecelia Beall, to help me see the car and test drive it to make sure everything was to my liking. Cecelia was such a sweetheart and a great navigator. Unlike the test drive at the Ourisman's competitors, Cecelia made sure that I thoroughly test drive and check out the car. There was no rush, no urgency on her end in ending the test drive. Another point! Once we came back from the test drive, Cecelia took all of my information needed for processing the lease paperwork, and got me with the finance person. I am so sorry for not remembering the name of the finance person, but she was another great person to work with. She did not try to push any extra on me as add-ons. She did explain the extras and then let me decide if I wanted them or not. Made me signed anything that needed to be signed and got me on my way no later than needed. After the paperwork was done, Eddie assigned me another sales person, who went over every function of the vehicle in detail. It was my first EV, but not my first car, so I knew how to operate the basics, but still it was a major plus that they actually cared to take their time to let me get acquainted with the new vehicle, rather than just take my money, hand me the keys, and point in the direction "there is your car, good bye." All in all, I am very happy that I decided to look around a bit more, rather than taking my lease from Ourisman's competitors. Perhaps, the other folks had bad experiences with the service department, or, perhaps between the last negative feedback Ourisman's management stepped in to make things right. If later, thats another plus point for Ourisman, since it means that they actually care about people's feedbacks and reviews. Thank you so much for making my first lease transaction so painless and trouble free. I will see you all in 3 years, if not sooner. --- This same review is posted on multiple forums and review sites ---

This was without a doubt the worst, most ridiculous

This was without a doubt the worst, most ridiculous service center. My husband and I were having issues with our Volvo XC40 battery and other electrical issues. The Volvo service center in Bethesda were unbelievably unclear about what was happening, they were shady about pricing, they kept our car for over 10 days, and it has still not been fixed. When my husband went to pick it up and disputed the bill, they called the police (not a joke). They called the police ON THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS. Then all of the service works brought other Volvos around our car and blocked my husband in with the cars. They were standing around the cars pointing and laughing at him (he has a video). This is 100% true. Brenda Green who we mainly communicated with at the Service Center had no straight answers for us, mumbled everything, was unclear about pricing. Brian Kostovic called the police after a rage-filled exchange with my husband who would not hand over the keys to the car while wanting to talk about the bill. This entire experience was terrible in every way. Do not use this service center for your Volvo. I wish we could give a lower rating.
