I had all but committed to purchasing a new Bolt EV. The closest dealership that has one to drive is in Dover, DE. I took time from my day off last Monday... to go in to get a feel for how the car drives before proceeding. I asked someone about the vehicle, and he said he didn't think it had any charge. He said they could charge it, and I could wait a few hours, or return later. Being an hour from home, I wasn't enthusiastic about either prospect. He told me multiple times that they are required to keep a Bolt EV on lot because of their footprint, which is not relevant to me. I asked if it had any charge whatsoever, and he said something about service having the charger, not answering my question. I asked if I could at least sit in it. After a long wait, he returned and had service unlock the car. I noticed that the car had 197 miles of range when the screen activated temporarily and tried to start it to show him it had charge. Service had taken the key back with them and it was out of range of the vehicle. I told him that the car had plenty of range and asked again if I could drive it. He told me that service had the key and would not hand it over. I told him how little that made sense if their objective was to sell cars. He told me that's just how they are. I asked to speak with a branch manager, and he pointed me toward the central desk in the showroom after being pedantic about them not being a branch. The employee at the central desk said that of course I could drive the car, but someone standing near the desk said they didn't think it had any charge. I informed them otherwise. They said that service probably had the key, and I told them that yes, getting the key from service seems to be the problem. They sent someone to get the key. After another, even longer wait, another employee took my driver's license, insurance, phone number, and email information. He went to get the car. I would have liked to start it myself, but did not have the opportunity. I asked if he was going to put a license plate on it, and he said they didn't have any available. After 1/2 mile, he directed me to turn around. I briefly considered asking for a more thorough drive, but was so incredibly frustrated at this point, that all I could manage was 'So that's it, I guess,' as we stopped at the light in front of the dealership. I'm incredibly excited about moving into the future and away from fossil fuels, and the Bolt seems like a great opportunity to take that step. I've seen talk about Chevrolet not really wanting to sell the Bolt, but I was absolutely astonished at how hard the entire staff seemed to be working to keep me from buying one. It's been nearly a week, and I'm still feeling extremely agitated over the experience, and I'm wondering if Chevrolet is worth dealing with at all.
Nothing spectacular about the dealership. Pretty much like the rest. Purchased truck from another dealer. I had bought 3 cars from the previous owners... Townsend Brothers
Emailed dealership regarding a vehicle advertised on Cars.Com. They acknowledged the email sent and that has been it. Makes me question customer service!
Jay, Malik, and Ryan were amazing! So helpful and funny. Great fun and total surprise for my husband. We are very happy and will come back for future... vehicles.

Dealer does not honor all coupons available for each car or customer. I would Have needed to bring my car back the next day to get the oil changed and... use the coupon.
Will Sheppard is absolutely awesome!!! He came in on his day off, took all the time necessary to answer all of our questions and was patient with us.... Having been a die hard Toyota person it was hard to buy another brand. Will represented the Chevy brand with Five stars. I will tell everyone of our experience!!
The repair and service prices are extremely high. Tg facilities are nice and they provide you a quote and repair in a timely manner.
Awesome service. Antoine worked with me and his other employees to get me into the vehicle I wanted and didn't keep me out of the loop about the process... at all. He would either text me or call me to let me know where we stood on the sale. All around great service. If you're looking for a new or used vehicle I would highly suggest Chevrolet of Dover.
