Absolutely terrible experience.
Absolutely terrible experience. This dealership dragged me along without ever giving me concrete numbers and insisted I complete a credit application first. After submitting it, I had to practically beg someone to call me back for any kind of update. Five days passed with no communication, only to hear through the grapevine that they were no longer honoring the deals they had promised—even with credit applications already on file. Completely unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and just go to their sister store in Baltimore or Clarksville—they actually want your business!

Dishonest sales experience: During negotiation, I stated
Dishonest sales experience: During negotiation, I stated clearly that I would be paying cash (no financing needed) and take responsibility for all the state of MD costs for titling and registering the vehicle (taxes, tags, etc.) to simplify the process and to let the dealer know that we did not need this service. We agreed to a price. In the next steps the dealer then inserted a $800 DOC fee. When I inquired what this is for, I was told it was required by the State of Maryland. This is patently false. After further research (we did not complete the sale), Maryland General Assembly statute §15–311.1 (d) states: A contract for the sale of a vehicle shall contain a statement, in 12 point type or larger, on the contract form as follows: “Dealer processing charge (not required by law): $....”. Essentially, a dealer is allowed (not required) by the State of MD to charge up to a maximum of $800 and the dealer is supposed to inform you of this charge and explain, upon request, what is included in this fee. Moreover, this fee is considered taxable, i.e. the State of MD adds it into the total price when calculating the vehicle tax owed. The sales people were not honest with us. If the dealer does not want to accept the price we offered, I have no problem with that (I respect that) but to agree and then to try to insert additional charges and falsely state these fees are required by the State of MD is dishonest. I would strongly suggest avoiding this dealership.

The $800 processing fee you are referring to is not a state-mandated fee but is a standard charge applied to every customer purchasing a vehicle at any Ourisman dealership in Maryland. It is neither hidden nor selectively applied. Your claim that you were misled is simply not accurate. The processing fee is clearly disclosed in accordance with Maryland law, and had you inquired beforehand, we would have gladly explained this to you. To suggest that you should be treated differently from every other customer speaks more to your mindset than to our business practices.
