Caution Lack of customer care

Sadly, my experiences with Pohanka Hyundai of Capital Heights has always been far from satisfactory. It's very poor. I have had multiple engine issues with my vehicle on top of a transmission replacement since purchasing it used in 2016. To make matters much more difficult, the lack of customer service provided by this dealership is terrible. My interactions with the service center staff has always felt like I was being brushed off and not taken seriously. My engine issues continue to persist despite bringing my car in for repairs multiple times. This dealership is unable to provide a lasting solutions but will be sure to have you pay ridiculous labor fees and leave you with the inconvenience of not having transportation. I has told that I could be added to a loaner car waitlist with 20 people ahead of me. This has been extremely frustrating and I am highly dissatisfied with the service. The staff members were unresponsive and lacked empathy for my situation. I have several emails sent to the director and VP of the center. The lack of communication and follow-up left me feeling like my business was not valued. I would caution anyone considering this dealership for their vehicle needs to carefully consider their options and think twice before choosing Pohanka Hyundai of Capital Heights.

Raggedy

Tout this forever warranty like it’s xxxxing gold when it’s not. They will lie to you hundreds of times. They lied to me about my car being diagnosed they lied to me about submitting the paperwork to the e warranty people. They claim to have over 100 cars on the lot with “the same issue as my car” mind you my car is a Honda sonata 2018 2.0t limited with failed inner turbo seals. I don’t think there’s over 100 cars there with the same exact issue so sir that’s a joke. Stop taking walk ins and you would be so backed tf up with cats that need engines. Now The customer serivce in general here is beyond xxxxty as well. from the service manager to the advisors to the sales people. All they want is your money and to lie to you or to act like they have no clue so they don’t have to do xxxx. All I want is my xxxxing warranty claim submitted in a timely fashion like my cars sales man told me they did. I called the warranty people today to be told something entirely different how they didn’t submit xxxx last week. Oh and they have no loaners so if you need an engine like me in your car your stuck paying your note and out of pocket for a xxxxing car rental and Lyft to get to and from work to pay the xxxxing car note on a car wich has a warranty issue and cannot be drove what a waste. Atp submit my xxxx fix my xxxx so I can take my xxxxing business elsewhere

Poor Customer Service

Had a discouraging experience with Pohanka Hyundai associated with the tags and title process. Dealership failed to file paperwork until 1 month after vehicle purchase. When they called to confirm that I wanted to transfer tags 1 month after purchase, I was alarmed by the delay and requested confirmation that the paperwork was submitted to the DC DMV. They were not willing to document the confirmation. More than 3 months later, I called to get my second set of temporary tags (!!) and check on the status of my tags and title. At this point, one day prior to my tags expiring, the manger of tags and titles informed me that "DC DMV refused to process my tags" 2-3 weeks prior to my phone call. No one from the dealership informed me of this issue. The manager of tags and titles complained about DC DMV and informed me that 6 other customers' applications were returned from DC DMV - which was a red flag to me. Pohanka refused to give me a new temp tag, left me with expired tags, and informed me that I was on my own to get tags from DC DMV. In addition, they failed to return my phone calls which pushed the issue further, and when I asked to speak with the Controller to make him/her aware of the issue, it was never fulfilled. I work for public schools and this was a huge disservice to me at the start of the school year. It required me to miss work during a critical time of the year. DC DMV was kind to sort through the paperwork and mis-filing by the dealership. My DMV visit took several hours - even after getting an agent because the situation from the dealership was left in a complicated incomplete state. Ultimately, it was discovered by DC DMV that the dealership made an error in payment for the tags, and DC DMV was waiting on a new check from the dealership - which would have been a very simple fix on the end of the dealership on behalf of their customer. I processed the payment myself with DC DMV - inconvenienced and disheartened by the lack of customer service at Pohanka. I will not recommend this dealership to friends or family.

very bad customers service

Never go to this dealership. very bad consumer service and a big lie general manager. Yesterday, August 19th, 2021, i went there for a car. what they wrote on the website isn't there, they showed me an very old 2008 hundai car with good mileages anyway. As i got there, a gentleman called Augustin received and i warm him that my last bus is leaving at 7pm. He promised to served me by then, error indeed. he wasted my time with his store general manager Kip Douglas, more than 2hrs, with the only goal to collected my information and run my credit score that make me loose 3 points each bureau score. They are big liars, coming to tell me that my credit point are 632, when i have for both bureau 684 points, just to try to charge me high interest rate. Mr Kip Douglas, very impolite was there running his mouth instead of serving me. after my last bus left, night came & tornado outside, he came to tell me that all bank are close, he can't proceed with my paperwork, he will call me next day morning time, before noon. I never hear back from him and when i started calling today, he charged the gentleman Augustin to tell me to get another car, which is expensive 3 times than the car i choose yesterday, bc he cannot get any bank to finance the car i choose. i think its a way for them to sell their expensive cars. i never write a review before, but decide to do it today, bc so angry. yesterday for me to get back home in washington dc, i have to call a lyft transportation that cost me $ 69.00 after i stood for a long time on the street with all that heavy rain. please stay away from this dealership, poor customer services, woos general store manager. no sense indeed, i will never go back there or send someone else

Sleazy used car dealer

I purchased a used Honda Fit from this dealership, next door to their Honda shop. The car had no rear wiper blade and was missing a bottom drip pan shield. After a brief test drive with empty tank, car was taken to dealer to fix these items. Waited several hours to see the car again, by which time it was dark, told that would take a day or two, but started paperwork. Finally delivered three days later, with no gas, no jack, no second key, no owners manual, the last two of which they wanted to charge me for. With two people waiting (long drive from home) I took the car which was needed to replace one that was totaled, but would not recommend this dealer. Charges for dealer prep are excessive, they lied about the warranty and spare key, they just polished and dumped it. Sleazy.

Customer survey issues.

The customer service personnel at this location gives the dealership a bad reputation. They are so rude and untrained. It’s so difficult to resolve issues and their approach is so rude.

I should have went to another dealer.

I felt misled and bullied. I spent an entire weekend there. When your gut tells you to leave you should follow your gut. I will be sending letters to the General Manager.

The Best Customer Service

The young Lady Kennedy greeted me as soon as I parked, she was not pushy at all she pointed me in the direction of what I was looking for and told me she'll be near if I needed her, her demeanor was so pleasant until I asked her to show me around. Even tho I could'nt find what I wanted she still offered as much as she could and I vowed to go back to see her!
