After those crooks at Fitzgerald tried to charge my son

After those crooks at Fitzgerald tried to charge my son 2,000 for two years running on his Forester, I took our two cars away. Drive my Outback to a local garage this morning. Not only are their services 30/40pc lower priced than those thieves at Fitzgerald, the shop owner was surprised at the number of services done 'early' by Fitzgerald - brake fluid done at less than 20k miles vs 30k for example etc. Here's is the proof - Fitzgerald Subaru is taking advantage of its clients and robs them blindly. Shame on you !

Summary: Falsified information and tried charging us

Summary: Falsified information and tried charging us ~2000$ for a 150$ fix. They charge a 250$ fee for DIAGNOSING a problem, an absolutely unethical business practice. NEVER TAKE YOUR SUBARU HERE. UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE. CANNOT TRUST! We brought our car in for multiple problems including some worrisome car shaking. They rushed us into leaving our car with them to "diagnose" our problem and promising a thorough video of any problems they found. We were pressured into agreeing into their 250$ diagnosis fee, which they do subtract from any total fees accrued from any repairs done to the car. The next day, we were quoted over 2000$ for multiple repairs that were "urgent" and would "only get worse". The video we received from their mechanic of our problems as "proof" was completely useless. The entire video was pointed away from the relevant area of the car, failing to show any useful information. It almost seemed as though they did not want to truly show us the location they claimed to be broken... We ended up paying the diagnosis fee and taking it elsewhere for a second opinion and a third opinion. Turns out, EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM they diagnosed was false. This was confirmed by two separate trusted, licensed car mechanics. The true problem was a simple problem which was fixed for under 150$. Safe to say, this is by far the WORST experience we have ever experienced.

The good and the bad at Fitzgerald Subaru Rockville.

The good and the bad at Fitzgerald Subaru Rockville. Had a thermal control valve failure on my 2019 Forester and had it towed to this dealership as the closet one. Five stars for servicing this warranty repair. But a few days later, I scheduled a vehicle maintenance, oil, filter, tire rotation. BUT, a one star, waiting almost two hours in the showroom for this “express service.” The advisor apologized for the delay and zeroed out the charge. The dealership has a service director and a service manager, so no excuse for this performance.

This review is about Darin Elmore, who I worked with to

This review is about Darin Elmore, who I worked with to purchase a new Subaru Ascent. I went to Fitzgerald to see if they'd beat another local dealer's offer, and they did. Darin didn't play any games, just took what I was asking for and showed me what they had and could offer. It was very smooth, and Darin was very professional. He went above and beyond, as well, retrieving my EZPass and a seatback mirror that I had forgotten in my trade (doh!) and returning them to me the next day when I came in to drop something off. All in all, highly recommend working with Darin to purchase a vehicle if you want a straightforward, no nonsense experience.

Terrible customer service

I bought my 2015 Forester from Fitzgerald's Gaithersburg location and had an excellent experience, so when it was time to purchase a new one (2024), I contacted them first. The salesman who called me, Raj Karki, started off pushy, and ended quite rude and hung up on me. When he first called and I told him I wanted to test drive a car, but needed a week before I could purchase, he got cagey and told me that he couldn't guarantee a price if I waited a week. I made the appointment anyway, but also looked into Costco's auto buying service. Costco sent me to a different dealer, which was fine with me because Raj really rubbed me the wrong way and I didn't want to deal with him. I cancelled my appointment with Raj 24 hours prior to the appointment. I went to the dealer that Costo sent me to and had a great experience. Raj just called me and got quite rude and started telling me how much money he could have saved me, although he had none of the details of my purchase from the other dealer. When I told him that I was already set with the other dealer, he hung up on me. Really nice. He's the kind of guy that gives car salespeople a bad name.

My tire pressure gauge came on.

My tire pressure gauge came on. I noticed there was a nail, I called and stopped by this location as it was close by for them to fix it but they wanted $70 although my tires were a month old purchased at another Subaru dealership and still under warranty. I was told it's because I didn't purchase the tires there. I just told them to put air in, so I can be on my way and took it back to my dealership. If you are operating under the Subaru umbrella you should take care of your customers regardless of where a vehicle was purchased etc. I have made calls to speak with a manager and have not received a call yet Very disappointing.

Another of several disappointing sales, service and

Another of several disappointing sales, service and autobody service experiences ...not my first with Fitz. Sales (first Rockville and now Gaithersburg), service and auto body has been unsatisfactory.... terrible tbh. My time is valuable and despite the flurry of contacts from both Rockville and Gaithersburg (way too much & conflicting), the sales team was completely unprepared to drive and to sell me a car. I'm an informed, decisive, existing Fitz customer who arrived with cash in hand (pre-qualified for financing too) and had identified which car(s) I was interested in driving.... prepared to buy. It was disappointing to have to sit for 10 minutes or so while they located the keys, then walk around the lot to locate the cars (sales did not know exactly where they were & clearly had done no prep work prior to my arrival) only to find a sloppily detailed car or two with extensive damage... one was in the parking garage which was too dark to see it well.... unacceptable! Cars had clearly been vacuumed, maybe run through auto wash, but the door and hatchback frames were filthy and no surfaces has been treated, etc. Furthermore, when I asked about comparable cars on the lot that I could view and drive.... they didn't know and I had to sit at desk looking at computer/inventory with them (what a joke). I went up to Gaithersburg yesterday because Rockville (once again) couldn't manage the most simple sales follow through... could not locate the keys to the car I was interested in AND did not bother to even call to follow up when their mgmt was due to work after telling me they had to wait for their manager to start work a few hrs. later (who does that??). In fact, the reason I'm now looking to purchase a car is because I had recently a bad service experience with Rockville (over fill on oil) and now, my car doesn't feel the same and I am no longer comfortable taking it on road trips. Prior to our service visit, we'd had no serious mechanical issues and despite being older, it ran as nicely as my newer Subaru.

So a service writer at Fitzgerald Subaru this morning

So a service writer at Fitzgerald Subaru this morning would not perform any service on my Toyota 86. I asked for an oil change and explicitly said I want nothing more. Cited some of the below... "tAkE iT To ToYoTa. It Is Not A sUbArU." "We DoN't HaVe AnY ToYoTa CeRtiFiEd TeChNiCiAnS." "We Do NoT sErViCe AnY OtHeR MaKeS, ReGaRdLeSs Of CiRcUmStAnCe oR SeRvIcE BeInG PeRfOrMeD." "We DoN'T dO iT bEcAuSe Of WaRrAntY IsSuEs aNd LiAbIlItY." "We WiLl NoT sErViCe ThAt BeCaUsE iT iS a ToYoTa" etc. etc. After informing him literally 99% of the car is Subaru, the entire engine is from Subaru, and "IT IS ONLY AN OIL CHANGE," I tried to push him on by asking "why?" to just about every one of his nonsense remarks, to which he [Fitzgerald Subaru] was confrontational and rude. Anyways, not a nice guy, and clearly had no clue what he was talking about, thus the review here. Preface to all of this, is I took my car to their sister Toyota store and they said it would take several hours for a basic oil change on a walk-in wait job, so I said never mind. Subaru is only a mile away, on my way home, so I stopped by. I had my GR 86 serviced at this same Subaru dealer with a different service writer a few months ago for the same (Toyota wait time) reason as above, (paying out of pocket, regardless of store, btw.) , and had a great experience with a different service writer. Point being: If you don't want the work, or are worried it is going to be a hassle because [insert nonsense reason here], just say it, don't be rude to customers. I will never be back to any Fitzgerald store as a result.

Best dealership I have ever worked with

Guys are professional, honest, and transparent. I saw a jeep I loved and they went out of their way to make make sure everything was perfect. Darin is a complete pro- seek him out for a new or used car. Lastly their 4000 mile warranty and ten day return policy is excellent- great place to buy used car!
