I've been doing research over the last couple of months for a new Santa Cruz. I have contacted several dealerships in Maryland to discuss various options and incentives. My experience has spanned from great to outright dishonesty. I without reservation recommend Dain Hightower at Massey Hyundai as a sales consultant to work with. Dain has been respectful, honest and helpful. No surprise that Dain has received many awards. Double thumbs up!

Best car buying experience of my life!
I’ve visited many dealerships in Hagerstown, and many of them are doing their best to squeeze every dollar out of your pocket. Massey is the exact opposite. Our salesperson, Brian Van Winkle, was pleasant, professional and not at all pushy. We purchased the exact vehicle we wanted at a fair price. The finance office was exactly the same way. Told us our options and we picked the one we wanted. This place is a breath of fresh air!

Terrible Vehicle
I would not recommend Massey Hyundai of Hagerstown Maryland to anyone. They must have the worst service center/mechanics around. They feed you nothing but excuses and lies. They don't honor anything they tell you when you buy a vehicle from them. Every oil change they do on my vehicle after a little more than a thousand miles, there will be no oil on my oil stick, and they say that's normal. When I bought the vehicle, I paid extra for the "Premium wrap bumper to bumper" extended warranty. Since June, they've had to do multiple repairs on this vehicle, and when I'd get my car back after a few days, the check engine light would come right back on again. They had my vehicle the entire month of October. They've had to replace 2 catalytic converters, which I had to pay out of pocket for them. Now the check engine light is on again, and they're telling me it has something to do with the catalytic converters, and they want more money. Really?

Be Aware....Don't be stupid....
Massey used to be a great place to buy a car with dignity. Not anymore! They try to convince you to buy junk if they don't get their way with someone. They have become like the rest of the country, it's called GREED. It's so disturbing how mankind, now in these times, will not help their fellow brothers & sisters. (figure of speech) I will definitely spread the word to everyone to beware of the deception at Massey. They could care less about you, just your money and interest. The reps put on a good show, but I could see right through them. I just played along with their childish, and deceptive game. NEVER USE THIS DEALERSHIP-THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
NEVER USE THIS DEALERSHIP-THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ATTEMPTED TO USE UNDERHANDED, TACTICS TO SECURE THE SALE OF A FIRST TIME CAR BUYER! THE SALESMAN ATTEMPTED TO FORCE THE SIGNATURE ON A PIECE OF PAPER WITH A PRICE AND MONTHLY PAYMENT, REFUSING TO TELL US WHAT THE INTEREST RATE WAS WE HAD TO SIGN FOR, BEFORE WE COULD SPEAK TO A FINANCE MANAGER THAT WE HAD ASKED TO TALK TO. AFTER CONTINUED REFUSAL TO ALLOW US TO SPEAK TO HIM, WE RELUCTANTLY SIGNED THRU COERCION. WE MARKED THRU IT SAYING WE DIDNT AGREE TO THE RATES AND WERE TOLD PRICING COULD BE MATCHED. WE ASKED TO TAKE A PHOTO OF WHAT WE HAD SIGNED AND WERE TOLD IT WAS NOT ALLOWED, BUT I TOOK ONE ANYWAY. AFTER WAITING OVER 2 HOURS FOR OUR TURN, SO THEY SAID, TO SPEAK TO THE FINANCE MANAGER WHO WAS SUPPOSEDLY WITH OTHER PEOPLE, I WALKED INTO AN EMPTY OFFICE, ASKED THE YOUNG MAN IF HE WAS THE FINANCE MANAGER AND THAT WE HAD BEEN WAITING OVER 2 HOURS. HE SAID YES AND I TOLD HIM IT APPEARED THE INTEREST RATE FOR MY YOUNG FRIEND WAS AROUND 15%! HE SAID YES. I SAID THAT IS ABSURD AND THEN ASKED HIM TO MATCH THE PRICE. HE INFORMED ME WE HAD SIGNED A PAPER AGREEING TO THE PRICE! I TOLD HIM WE WERE FORCED TO SIGN IT IIN ORDER TO SEE HIM AND WERE TOLD IT DIDNT MEAN ANYTHING AND THAT WE COULD SHOW YOU THE PRICE WE HAD SEEN ON THE INTERNET. HE REFUSED AFTER CALLING THE SALESMAN IN. WE HAD COPIES OF INTERNET OFFERS AND THEIR OWN ADVERTISING SHOWING 6.9 % RATE FOR CREDIT THAT WE HAD. WHEN I SAID WE WERE ASKING OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE, BEFORE SPEAKING TO THE FINANCE MANAGER, WHO ALSO DIDN’T SEEM TO VALUE OUR BUSINESS…WE WERE TOLD TO GO AHEAD IF THATS WHAT WE FELT WE NEEDED TO DO. THE NEXT MORNING WE DROVE TO TOWSON HYUNDAI WHERE WE WERE MET WITH PROFESSIONALISM, KINDNESS AND RECEIVED 6.99% INTEREST AND A TRUE APPRECIATION FOR THE SALE OF A FIRST TIME BUYER! IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND ALTHOUGH I DONT WISH THE MASSEY EXPERIENCE ON ANYONE, IT WAS GOOD FOR MY YOUNG FRIEND TO SEE THE EXTREME CONTRAST OF GOOD BUSINESS VERSUS SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND THOSE THAT THINK THEY CAN OPERATE THAT WAY! Cma’s new customer
I was there to buy a vehicle. I offered a reasonable offer to which I was told they couldn’t accept. I looked back a month later and the vehicle is online for 800 less than what I offered. If you feel you got a good deal there then you got had. Then I looked at new ones and went to Cma in Winchester. Got it for 20 dollars a month less AND they include lifetime power terrain warranty.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!!
Don’t go to Massey Hyundai, I went there, found an SUV I fell in love with, had signed all the “deal” paperwork, and was at the point where I was cleaning out my car to move things over when they came out to tell me they made a “mistake “ with their calculations (which I would think would be computer calculated these days) and my payment would be $100 more a month!! When I asked to speak to the finance manager about the reasoning for all of this, they wouldn’t let me without signing more paperwork, in which I refused and walked out with my old car. That was the 3rd strike and final time they burned me! The other two related to a new car I bought from them and lack of oil in my engine after my first oil change, then my brand new car died, they wouldn’t get me a courtesy rental and told me it would be a week before they could even look at it.
