Terrible customer service.
Terrible customer service. Dulles CarMax failed to file Clean Vehicle Seller Report with IRS when I bought an all electric car last year. Because of this, my 2024 tax filing is postponed. CarMax is giving me the run around ( numerous phone calls, few emails, even tried in person)- zero help. It’s a one page form which THEY failed to file in the first place. They refuse to help- they keep sending me to a different person.

The customer service at Carmax Dulles is non existent.
The customer service at Carmax Dulles is non existent. We bought a car from them with some repairs needed. It consisted of a left and right broken mirror and a leaking moon roof. It has taken almost three weeks with no repairs and the inabilty to get a return call. You go there and ask and have to deal with lackluster staff who promise you the world and deliver nothing. When you ask to speak with a manager they are always off that day. Save yourself the heartache and dont buy from carmax, it's not worth the time and efgirt.

After 13 years and 8 auto purchases from CarMax, I will never, ever purchase an automobile from them and in fact advise anyone and everyone not to do so either. I purchased my recent SUV from the Dulles location and it has been in the service shop 3 times now, for the same problem that they have reassured us has been fixed each time. This time my car has been there 9 days with no end in site. I have been told, “sorry, we have a lot of cars here in line” and “we are a small shop”. CarMax is not a small shop and why are there so MANY recently purchased vehicles back for repairs?? I’m paying for a car that’s been in my possession for 10 out of the 32 days I’ve owned it. Beyond ridiculous and a disgrace.

Beware price changes
I need a car, so we went to Carmax. We went last night to sell an old car and noticed one that I was interested in. I emailed them this morning for an appointment and said I was interested in a specific vehicle (they only had one on the lot). We got there and went for a test drive. When we returned, we noticed that they had put a new sticker on it FOR $1000 MORE. I had a photo from the previous night that showed the difference. We told the salesman what we had found, and he had no explanation. He said that they would honor to price we had in our photo, but we declined. Any company that will do this does not deserve our business. Beware.

Dealership never made any attempt to contact me. Only thing received was automated responses. VERY POOR. I'd give it zero stars if I could. This dealership is not serious and would rather just deal with people who arrive on their lot.

Do your homework!
I ordered a car and had it delivered from the mid west with the understanding that I had to pay up front for transporting but should the car not meet my expectations I would have monies refunded. When the car arrived I notice scratches and chips on the hood, a terrible bump ride (I suspect it is in need of shocks) and over all dirty with a sticky, tacky substance on the steering wheel....after the test drive I kindly refused the car...when inquiring about the refund simply it was NOT going to happen...in their opinion it was not a significant concern, hence no refund....I suspect you should be dubious about these folks. By the by, my salesman (Rob) was generally super....accept when representing my refund. Good luck.

The start of my purchase at CarMax Dulles was good. I...
The start of my purchase at CarMax Dulles was good. I took the car home, went to program my radio and found the touch screen didn't work, found several scratches in the front window and the rubber seal on the sun roof was damaged. I called the sales man and he asked that I contact the service department and they would handle it. So, I couldn't get a appointment until after my 7 day return time was up. Note, I only had the car a week prior to dropping it off. I drop the car off on September 29th and didn't get my car back until October 20th (over 3 weeks). The radio was replaced and I was told a new seal would be install in the sun roof but not the case as they attempted to glue the old gasket in place which pulled out as soon as I opened the sun roof. I was also told that the scratches in the window would not be addressed as it wasn't that bad and James told me we had to spend a lot replacing the radio and we're not replacing the glass because it meets our standards. I went to Car Max because I thought I would get quality service and a good car. I guess selling a car with a malfunctioning radio, possible leaking sun roof and damaged wind shield is how they do business. I guess they are okay with it. Make sure you look over the car very well if you plan to purchase here. Last thing, they want me to bring the car back to replace the seal that should have been done while the cars was there for 3 weeks. I guess they want to keep it another few weeks while they make a second attempt to fixing it. xxxx, I just got it back and you need me to drop it off again. Like
