New TrailSport Joins Honda Ridgeline Family for 2024
The Honda Ridgeline will follow in the tracks of the Pilot and Passport when the 2024 model goes on sale this winter, with a new TrailSport trim level joining the lineup. As with those two SUVs, the Ridgeline TrailSport features an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires and a steel skid plate to protect the oil pan during extreme off-roading.

External Upgrades
The 2024 Ridgeline TrailSport’s suspension upgrades include unique springs, damper tuning and stabilizer bars to increase suspension articulation and improve ride quality off-road. Eighteen-inch wheels in Pewter Gray are wrapped in General Grabber A/T Sport rubber. Like all Ridgelines, the TrailSport is only available with all-wheel drive.
Visual distinctions are few for the TrailSport but include a unique grille, black trim on the door pillars and side mirrors, and Honda’s orange TrailSport badges. Inside, there’s orange ambient lighting and contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel and door panels, as well as TrailSport logos embroidered into the head restraints and stamped into the rubber floormats.
Doing the Internal Work
Beyond the new addition, the whole Ridgeline family gets updated for 2024 with a new grille, a new tailgate with the model name stamped into it in the largest font possible — without necessitating an awkward hyphenated line break — and numerous interior updates.
As they tend to be in 2024, digital screens are the order of the day in the refreshed Ridgeline. A 7-inch digital instrument panel works its way into the gauge cluster, housing the tachometer and speedometer, while a new 9-inch touchscreen takes up residence in the center of the dash and now includes standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A wireless phone charging pad can be found in the redesigned center console.
The Honda Sensing safety suite is standard on all 2024 Ridgelines. It includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist and adaptive cruise control.
The unibody Ridgeline combines a spacious and comfortable cab with class-leading on-road manners and an impressive 1,583-pound payload. Its maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds lags behind the body-on-frame competition, but if you don’t need the extra 1,000 or 2,000 pounds, the Ridgeline’s comfort makes it very attractive.
