Limited-Edition Alfa Romeo Super Sport Models Celebrate End of Twin-Turbo V-6
Alfa Romeo’s return to the U.S. hardly registers in Stellantis’ sales numbers. Its not-quite-11,000 combined volume for the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale in 2023 rounds up to just 1% of the automaker’s total. But the high-performance Quadrifoglio variants of the Giulia and Stelvio made an impression that will linger for quite some time. (Quadrifoglio is Italian for “four-leaf clover,” Alfa Romeo’s longtime racing symbol.) The twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 engine at the heart of that reputation is set to phase out of production, and the brand is celebrating with an extremely limited run of Quadrifoglio Super Sports.

Super Rare
Alfa Romeo will build just 275 Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sports and 175 Stelvios globally, with only 72 Giulias and 52 Stelvios earmarked for the U.S. All feature Quadrifoglio badging with a black background instead of the usual white, dark wheels, black brake calipers with white Alfa Romeo script, and carbon-fiber side mirrors and grille trim.
A naked carbon-fiber roof panel is available for the Giulia; the Stelvio gets an optional dual-pane moonroof. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport is only available in Nero Vulcano (black) and Rosso Etna (dark red), while Giulia buyers can also get their car sprayed Bianco Alfa (white).
Inside, red-tinted carbon-fiber trims the dashboard, doors and center console. The head restraints on the black seats are embroidered with red Super Sport logos, with the vehicle’s build number in black.
Celebrating the Six, Not Modifying It
The overachieving twin-turbo V-6 is unchanged, still generating 505 horsepower and 443 pounds-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission, carbon-fiber driveshaft and mechanical limited-slip rear differential likewise carry over from the regular Quadrifoglios.
Not that the powertrain needed any tweaking. Alfa Romeo claims it will slingshot the Giulia from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 191 mph. With the additional traction of its standard all-wheel drive, the Stelvio catapults to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, while its less aerodynamic shape limits terminal velocity to a mere 176 mph.
