Honda Recalls 187,000 Ridgeline Pickup Trucks for Faulty Rearview Camera
Honda is recalling over 187,000 examples of its Ridgeline pickup truck for a potentially defective rearview camera.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2020-24 Ridgelines. In low temperatures where road salt is present, the electric wiring in the rearview camera tailgate wire harness may break due to water freezing and thawing within the wiring’s insulation as the tailgate opens and closes repeatedly. This can result in a failure to display the rearview camera image, increasing the risk of a collision. Drivers may notice the tailgate locking function and alarm system malfunctioning before this occurs.
Dealers will replace the rearview camera tailgate wire harness for free. Honda will notify owners July 1, but those with further questions can contact the automaker at 888-234-2138 (Honda’s number for this recall is YI7), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
