Ford Reveals More of 2025 Mustang GTD

When Ford debuted the $300,000-plus 2025 Mustang GTD in the summer of 2023, we were pumped about the street-legal, high-performance Mustang built in partnership with Multimatic, the same folks who helped bring the GT to life. But its cabin remained something of a mystery — until now. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series is debuting at this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in France and ahead of the race, Ford revealed photos and more details about the car’s “driver-focused” interior.

Inside, the GTD gets large 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, standard Recaro seats and available titanium trim on the gear selector. It also uses a thick-rimmed flat-bottom steering wheel with additional driver controls. Ford says the GTD’s steering wheel buttons allow the driver to adjust the suspension firmness and exhaust mode while keeping eyes on the road. In back, there’s nothing; Ford eliminated the backseat to save weight and give owners a semi-useful cargo area. The backseat also includes a window to the trick rear suspension.
The GTD has tech-specific modifications, too. Ford says the Unreal Gaming technology that powers the Sync 4 infotainment system now has Mustang GTD-specific welcome and farewell graphics on the 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch reconfigurable digital gauge cluster; the exclusive performance-oriented gauge cluster puts the gear indicator and tachometer front and center, removing all other info.

Power comes from a GTD-specific version of Ford’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 with a 7,500-rpm redline, dual air inlets and dry-sump engine oil system (the latter is the first time such tech is being used in a road-legal Mustang). The automaker is targeting output of more than 800-plus horsepower, but official numbers still haven’t been announced.
Outside, the Carbon Series version leaves the hood, roof and rear deck unpainted in carbon fiber, with the wheels (aluminum or magnesium) in Magnetite. Body color or contrasting painted stripes are available along with Grabber Blue, Race Red or Black painted brake calipers. Ford says a new Performance Package adds magnesium wheels, active aerodynamics and a new front fascia with dive planes.

Ford says orders are opening for European customers after the application window has closed for North American customers, during which Ford received more than 7,500 applications for the $325,000-plus Ford Mustang GTD.
