Face-Lifted 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe Priced From $60,495, Suburban Starts at $63,495
Yes, there’s a new Corvette with 1,064 horsepower, but the Tahoe and Suburban SUVs are the flagships of Chevrolet’s lineup. Aside from the Corvette, the brand sells only SUVs and trucks, and the full-size three-row twins are the biggest, most capable and most luxurious in the lineup. Chevrolet tweaked the duo for the 2025 model year with suspension updates aimed at improving ride and handling, refined front styling with new signature lighting, an updated interior featuring a larger 17.7-inch touchscreen and a host of new technologies to ease trailer towing. The price for these upgrades goes up a little bit from the 2024 model, as the 2025 Tahoe starts at $60,495 and the Suburban at $63,495 (all prices include $1,995 destination charge).

Powertrain Specs and MPG
A 5.3-liter V-8 engine is standard in the Tahoe and Suburban, generating 355 horsepower and 383 pounds-feet of torque. A 420-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 good for 460 pounds-feet is available in the RST, Z71 and Premier and standard in the High Country. Chevrolet also offers a diesel engine on the LT trim level and higher. Revised to increase power and torque for 2025, the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six now makes 305 hp and 495 pounds-feet of torque.
All three engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive costs an additional $3,000 on most trim levels ($4,500 on the High Country) but is standard on the Z71.
Fuel economy for the full-size twins is predictably not great — although the disparity between the V-8s is less than some might expect. There’s a benefit to working a larger engine less hard to move this much mass. The rear-drive Tahoe returns an EPA-rated 15/20/17 mpg city/highway/combined with either V-8 engine, while 4WD versions with the 5.3 are rated at 15/19/17 mpg and 14/18/16 mpg with the 6.2. In the Suburban, the 5.3-liter returns 15/20/17 mpg with RWD and 14/19/16 mpg with 4WD, and the 6.2 is rated at 15/19/16 mpg for rear-drivers and 14/18/16 mpg with 4WD. The diesel will arrive later; its official EPA fuel-economy ratings will be available closer to launch.

Safety Features and Trim Levels
As their base prices have climbed beyond $60,000, the Tahoe and Suburban have evolved into luxury goods. A wide range of advanced safety technologies is now standard on the pair, including automated parking, forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, blind spot intervention, rear cross-traffic alert with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, and front cross-traffic alert. Also standard are adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree parking camera, a rear-seat reminder and GM’s Safety Alert Seat, which vibrates the driver’s seat bottom cushion to alert them of potential hazards. Teen Driver settings are standard, as well, and allow parents to limit certain functions when a specific key fob is used to start the vehicle.
The entry-level LS trim on both SUVs includes 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, remote start, and keyless entry and starting. Inside, it features power-adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery and tri-zone automatic climate control. Standard cabin tech consists of an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, six speakers and a 17.7-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Upgrading to the LT adds a power liftgate and interior bits like heated leather front seats, wireless phone charging and upgraded trim.
Largely an appearance package, the RST features black exterior trim, LED foglights, two-tone black and polished 22-inch wheels, a dual-outlet exhaust and a unique interior with red stitching.
The Z71 is aimed at buyers looking to wander farther from paved roads, with a unique front bumper for an improved approach angle, skid plates protecting the critical mechanical components underneath, a two-speed transfer case, black 22-inch wheels and red tow hooks.
Taking the opposite approach is the Premier, which features Magnetic Ride Control adaptive dampers and more chrome exterior trim, as well as upgraded LED exterior lighting with welcome and goodbye animations, and 20-inch wheels. Inside, the Premier features heated and ventilated front seats, a heated power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power-adjustable and heated second-row captain’s chairs, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.
In addition to a standard 6.2-liter V-8, the High Country trim features a unique two-tone interior with authentic wood trim, a 15-inch head-up display, a rearview mirror camera and 22-inch wheels.
