The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is indeed one of the most popular mid-size pickup trucks of the year, and with four different configurations, there really is one for everyone. But which trim should you buy? Cars.com reviewer Aaron Bragman says it depends on how you’re planning to use it.
“Choose the Sport S if you want the maximum towing ability, the Overland if you don’t much plan to go off-road or the Rubicon if you want to haul some toys or stuff to a remote campground, or perhaps go on an overland expedition somewhere,” he writes. “Just make sure you bring that loaded checking account, as regardless of the version you choose, it’s not going to be cheap.”

In other truck news, we may be getting the first pickup truck emoji soon thanks to Ford. The automaker has petitioned the Unicode Consortium to add to the list of approved icons a pickup truck in — you guessed it — Ford blue. The emoji has been short-listed as a candidate to be included in the next update, coming early 2020.
What else is going on in pickup news this week? About 7,600 model-year 2019 Ford Rangers were recalled. Cars.com Senior Consumer Affairs Editor Kelsey Mays dug into the reason destination charges for brand-new pickups have been so high in recent years. The Chevrolet Colorado and Silverado are among the best new-car deals for July. Electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian is finally stepping out of obscurity and into the EV spotlight. And that’s not all.
