65,000 Acura SUVs, Honda Minivans and SUVs: Recall Alert

img 1015899966 1542388260274 jpg 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid | Manufacturer image

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 65,000 model-year 2017-19 Acura MDX SUVs; model-year 2017-18 MDX Sport Hybrid SUVs; model-year 2016 and 2018-19 Honda HR-V SUVs; and model-year 2018-19 Odyssey minivans

The Problem: The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating, causing gas pockets to form, reducing brake performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will bleed the brakes for free.

What Owners Should Do: Acura manufacturer Honda will begin notifying owners Dec. 17. Owners can call Honda at 888-234-2138, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
