The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette enters its 70th year in production with an all-new anniversary edition as well as minor updates, but its value in the base trim as a high-end sports car remains: A Stingray 1LT can still be had for less than $70,000 (if you can get one).

The $5,995 70th Anniversary Special Edition Package celebrates the Corvette’s septuagenarian mark and can be ordered for both the coupe and hardtop convertible versions of the Stingray and Z06. The package adds dark aluminum wheels with red stripes, white seats with red stitching, red seat belts, red brake calipers, a carbon-fiber and microfiber steering wheel, and the choice of two paint colors: White Pearl Metallic or Carbon Flash Metallic.
The rest of the updates for the 2023 Corvette are minor ahead of some big changes for 2024 in the form of a hybrid, all-wheel-drive E-Ray variant. The exterior color roster expands to 14 hues, and buyers will be able to select a new 20-spoke wheel design, black exhaust tips, a new Stealth Interior Trim Package that adds dark aluminum accents and an Adrenaline Red dipped interior that makes nearly every surface in the cabin red. The interior also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, as well as a 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument cluster.
Performance for the 2023 Corvette comes from a pair of V-8 engines. The Stingray gets a 490-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 (495 hp in Z51 form or with the performance exhaust system); the Z06 comes with a 670-hp, 5.5-liter V-8. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. The Stingray achieves an EPA-rated 16/24/19 mpg city/highway/combined, while the Z06 gets 12/21/15 mpg (12/19/14 mpg with the Carbon Aero Package).
