The exterior styling of the lineup carries over mostly unchanged, but all variants now get standard LED headlights. The Black Optic Package has been replaced with an all new Black Optic Plus Package that adds more darkened accents, including a black rear spoiler and exhaust tips; available for the first time on the A4 Allroad’s Prestige Plus and Premium trims, the package features Manhattan Grey paint, body-colored door handles, 18-inch wheels and black roof rails, exhaust tips, mirror housings and badging. Additionally, the Convenience Package now includes adaptive cruise control for the A4, S4, A5 and S5, and Premium Plus variants get a new Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system.
For 2023, the S4’s 18-inch wheels have been replaced with bigger 19-inch wheels with either standard summer tires or optional all-season tires. The sporty sedan also gets a new Audi Sport Interior Package for the Premium Plus and Prestige trims that adds a black interior with red contrast stitching and RS carbon inlays; the package is available on the S5, as well. Meanwhile, the A5 cabriolet gets a standard S Line exterior, gray wood accents, sport seats and illuminated door sills.
The base engine for the A4 and A5 lineup is a 201-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and a 261-hp, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder is available; both engines are mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The A4 Allroad also comes standard with the 261-hp, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and seven-speed automatic. S4 and S5 models get a 349-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 paired with an eight-speed automatic, and RS 5 variants get a 444-hp, turbocharged 2.9-liter six-cylinder. All-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.
