2020 Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG Cars and SUVs: Recall Alert

2020 Mercedes-AMG E63

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,300 model-year 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans and wagons and GLC-Class SUVs; and model-year 2020 Mercedes-AMG E63 S, GT 53 and GT 63 sedans and GLC SUVs equipped with rear seatbacks that can be electronically unlatched

The Problem: The left rear seatback latch may not be strong enough to withstand certain loads, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the left rear seatback for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Aug. 4. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
