Vehicles Affected: Approximately 19,100 model-year 2017-19 Alfa Romeo Giulia sedans and model-year 2018-19 Stelvio SUVs

The Problem: The brake system module software may prevent the driver from disabling adaptive cruise control after the traction control system detects a specific wheel slip, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will update the brake system module software for free.

What Owners Should Do: Alfa Romeo began notifying owners March 25. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
