The problem: In certain Toyota cars and SUVs, the engine may consume excessive oil due to faulty pistons and piston rings.

Corrective action: Toyota dealers will replace the pistons and piston rings inside the motor to correct the excessive engine oil consumption problem.

Warranty info: This service is being performed free of charge under Toyota’s powertrain warranty, good for five years or 60,000 miles.
