165,500 Subaru and Scion Cars, SUVs and Wagons: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 165,500 model-year 2012-14 Subaru Impreza sedans, model-year 2012-13 Impreza wagons, and model-year 2013 BRZ coupes and XV Crosstrek SUVs; and model-year 2013 Scion FR-S coupes
The Problem: The engine valve springs may fracture, causing an engine malfunction or a possible engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the valve springs for free.
What Owners Should Do: Neither Subaru nor Scion manufacturer Toyota have yet provided owner-notification schedules. Subaru owners can call the automaker at 844-373-6614, Scion owners can call Toyota at 888-270-9371, and both owners can call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
